Hello!! My name is Adrian Astor, and I created this website to connect with readers and other writers! ^^I hope you all love it; this is my attempt to finally spread my wings in the indie-publishing community :)The picture here is my pfp on TikTok and X!! One of my favourites actually ^^

Text

I am a Canadian author who primarily dabbles in Victorian-inspired literature, loves classics, gardening, and drawing!! Currently, I am publishing my debut novel, The Ivory Mirror, pretty soon, and am really in love with it! I design my own covers as well, and I find that very fun :>Some of my favourite books to read are The Picture of Dorian Gray and Great Expectations

I have a few projects that are soon to come following the release of The Ivory Mirror. Most notably, a prequel-sequel focusing on the character, Ivory and his story, tragedy, and what made him become the man he did--including what happened after the events of The Ivory Mirror! :3

I will be hosting my launch either this fall/winter or the next, as I would prefer its unveiling around the same time when I first began this journey ^^

I have one novel that is undergoing preparations for its launch called The Ivory Mirror and a few upcoming projects to come! I am currently invested in Victorian-inspired literature and construct my plots around that time period in terms of behaviours, historical context, and values :)

The Ivory Mirror

This is my debut novel, and I take a lot of pride in it. After 10 prior manuscripts, I have at last decided to start my indie journey with my most recent work, The Ivory Mirror! This novel deviates from contemporary releases by utilising slower pacing, detailed character arcs, and lush (but not purple) prose. In 1850s Oxford, England, gentleman writer Lord Ebony Prelude is an odd man who does not adhere to traditional expectations of the society around him. However, his life undergoes an extreme and devastating change when he's informed of his brother's death from a psychiatric ward, causing him to attempt to numb the grief and guilt from his greatest tragedy. The story focuses on interpersonal themes such as identity, public vs private persona, and repressing parts of yourself to fit in with others despite the pain it may bring you.I'm hoping to release it either Winter of 2026 or 2027, depending on my setup!! ^^

Ivory

Focusing on the titular character, Ivory, this work will explore the mysterious, elusive man who accompanied Ebony's inherited ivory mirror. His origin, though not developed much in the first novel, will be thoroughly explored in this prequel-sequel story!Love and devotion are cornerstone themes of this particular story, but ultimately, it further explores the severe depression that can stem from otherwise pleasant things...

Candlelight

Taking place in 1880s France, Candlelight is a faint idea as of now. Centred around Lucien Parsley, the story follows a sickly man who grows desperate to escape his lethal illness by any means necessary. However, this only brings with it paranoia, obsession, and dependence that compromise life itself in a cruel twist of irony.

I am on both TikTok and X/Twitter, ready to connect with other writers, readers, and other people in general!I usually post every other day, at least once per week, about my garden, new art, or my indie-publishing journey :)DM me at any time!! And please know that if I do not answer right away, it is likely because I fell down a rabbit hole and genuinely forgot to answer, but in the end, I always respond!!

In addition to writing, I also do plenty of art, including character sketches!!

A picture of undertaker Marley Shire, who, after constant exposure to death, fell into addiction to numb his depression, notably after his sister's death in childbirth.

Artwork of Sir Talbot Edwards, an artist who climbed through societal ranks. Earnest, loyal, and trustworthy to the very end, though sometimes he goes a bit too far for his own good.
